EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Very toxic by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed.
Potential Health Effects
Eye:
May cause eye irritation.
Skin:
May cause skin irritation.
Ingestion:
May be fatal if swallowed. May cause irritation of the digestive tract. May cause muscle paralysis, respiratory failure, and possible death. Ingestion affects the muscles and causes salivation, tingling of the mouth, convulsions, numbness, slow pulse rate, irregular heart beat, pulmonary edema, and potassium deficiency in the blood.
Inhalation:
May cause respiratory tract irritation. May cause effects similar to those described for ingestion. May produce numbness and tingling of the lips, hands, and feet (paresthesia) and ataxia (failure of muscular coordination).
Chronic:
Repeated exposure may cause central nervous system damage.

Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid.
Skin:
Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse.
Ingestion:
Call a poison control center. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid.
Inhalation:
Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid. Do NOT use mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion.
