Section 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Toxic if swallowed. Very toxic in contact with skin.Hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air).
Potential Health Effects
Eye:
May cause eye irritation.
Skin:
May cause skin irritation. May be fatal if absorbed through the skin.
Ingestion:
May be fatal if swallowed. May cause adverse effects of the musculature. May cause severe digestive tract irritation with abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May cause tremors and convulsions. May cause muscle paralysis, respiratory failure, and possible death.
Inhalation:
May cause effects similar to those described for ingestion.
Chronic:
May cause digestive tract and cardiac disturbances.

Section 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid.
Skin:
Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid if irritation develops or persists. Discard contaminated clothing in a manner which limits further exposure. Destroy contaminated shoes.
Ingestion:
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Get medical aid immediately.
Inhalation:
Get medical aid immediately. Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

Section 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Can form explosive mixtures at temperatures above the flashpoint. Vapors may be heavier than air. They can spread along the ground and collect in low or confined areas.
Extinguishing Media:
For small fires, use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide or chemical foam. Water or foam may cause frothing.

Section 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Avoid runoff into storm sewers and ditches which lead to waterways.
Wear a self contained breathing apparatus and appropriate personal protection. (See Exposure Controls, Personal Protection section).
Remove all sources of ignition. Absorb spill using an absorbent, non-combustible material such as earth, sand, or vermiculite. Do not use combustible materials such as sawdust.

Section 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE
Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Use with adequate ventilation. Ground and bond containers when transferring material. Use spark-proof tools and explosion proof equipment. Do not reuse this container. Do not get on skin or in eyes. Do not ingest or inhale.
Storage:
Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep from contact with oxidizing materials. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Keep away from strong acids.
