Section 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
May cause cancer. May cause heritable genetic damage. Toxic in contact with skin and if swallowed. Toxic : danger of serious damage to health by prolonged exposure through inhalation, contact with skin and if swallowed.
Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Causes eye irritation. May cause eye irritation and possible burns.
Skin:
May be absorbed through the skin in harmful amounts. May cause skin sensitization, an allergic reaction, which becomes evident upon re-exposure to this material. If absorbed, causes symptoms similar to those of ingestion. Contact with the skin will cause peeling of the skin of the fingertips.
Ingestion:
Harmful if swallowed. Can cause nervous system damage.
Inhalation:
Harmful if inhaled. May cause effects similar to those described for ingestion. May cause respiratory tract irritation.
Chronic:
May cause cancer according to animal studies.

Section 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid.
Skin:
Get medical aid immediately. Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse.
Ingestion:
Call a poison control center. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid.
Inhalation:
Get medical aid immediately. Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
Notes to Physician:

Section 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
General Information:
Containers can build up pressure if exposed to heat and/or fire.
During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to prevent contact with thermal decomposition products. Combustible liquid.
Extinguishing Media:
For small fires, use dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water spray or alcohol-resistant foam. Use water spray to cool fire-exposed containers.

Section 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. vermiculite, sand or earth), then place in suitable container. Avoid generating dusty conditions.
Remove all sources of ignition.

Section 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE
Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Do not ingest or inhale. Use with adequate ventilation.
Storage:
Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Keep from contact with oxidizing materials. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Dark room. Keep away from polymerization catalysts.

Section 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION
Engineering Controls:
Use process enclosure, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to control airborne levels below recommended exposure limits.
Exposure Limits CAS# 79-06-1: United Kingdom, WEL - TWA: 0.3 mg/m3 TWA United Kingdom, WEL - STEL: 0.9 mg/m3 STEL United States OSHA: 0.3 mg/m3 TWA Belgium - TWA: 0.03 mg/m3 VLE France - VME: 0.1 ppm VME; 0.3 mg/m3 VME Germany: 0.06 mg/m3 TWA (solid); 0.03 mg/m3 TWA Germany: Skin absorber Japan: 0.1 mg/m3 OEL Malaysia: 0.03 mg/m3 TWA Russia: 0.2 mg/m3 TWA Spain: 0.03 mg/m3 VLA-ED CAS# 110-26-9: CAS# 7732-18-5: Personal Protective Equipment Eyes: Wear chemical goggles and a face shield.
Skin:
Wear impervious gloves.
Clothing:
Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.
Respirators:
A respiratory protection program that meets OSHAs 29 CFR 1910.134 and ANSI Z88.2 requirements or European Standard EN 149 must be followed whenever workplace conditions warrant respirator use. A NIOSH/MSHA approved air purifying dust or mist respirator or European Standard EN 149.

Section 10 - STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Chemical Stability:
Stable. However, may decompose if heated.
Conditions to Avoid:
Incompatible materials, light, ignition sources, excess heat.
Incompatibilities with Other Materials:
Strong oxidizers, reducing agents, acids, bases, metals and peroxides. The substance polymerizes readily upon heating above the melting point or under the influence of UV light. Copper, aluminum, brass, bronze, iron, or rust may trigger a rapid exothermic polymerisation of acrylamide solution.
Hazardous Decomposition Products:
Carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, carbon dioxide.
Hazardous Polymerization: Has not been reported
