Section 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Not available.
Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Dust may cause mechanical irritation.
Skin:
Dust may cause mechanical irritation. May be absorbed through the skin.
Ingestion:
Harmful if swallowed. Causes gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May cause liver and kidney damage.
May cause perforation of the digestive tract. May cause vascular collapse and damage.
Inhalation:
Inhalation of fumes may cause metal fume fever, which is characterized by flu-like symptoms with metallic taste, fever, chills, cough, weakness, chest pain, muscle pain and increased white blood cell count.
Chronic:
May cause reproductive and fetal effects.

Section 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
Eyes: Get medical aid. Gently lift eyelids and flush continuously with water.
Skin:
Get medical aid if irritation develops or persists. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water.
Ingestion:
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Get medical aid immediately.
Inhalation:
Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. Get medical aid.
Notes to Physician:

Section 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Dusts at sufficient concentrations can form explosive mixtures with air.
Extinguishing Media:
Use water fog, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or regular foam.

Section 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Sweep up or absorb material, then place into a suitable clean, dry, closed container for disposal.

Section 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE
Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not ingest or inhale.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place. Keep away from strong acids.

Section 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION
Engineering Controls:
See 29CFR 1910.1027 for regulations applying to all occupational exposures to cadmium and cadmium compounds, in all forms.
